Eid.
Its 3 am on saturday, its a holiday tomorrow and im on leave til tuesday.. I should be out and about or at least do something productive at home but instead my eyes hasnt left the computer screen since 11pm. talk about having a “life”
Well I guess the fact that I’ve been really busy with work and I find myself exhausted by 11pm on most days ( I come back from work, eat, take a shower, get ready for work the next day… which means by the time Im done with all that.. its already 11pm.. pffft.. not enough time to do other things!). Therefore, I treasure nights/days like these, as I can do whatever the hell I want and when I want to without worrying about work/class the next day.
younger days – My dad used to wake us up (my siblings & I) really early in the morning to have our breakfast and then he’d drive us around town til lunch time (dads version of sightseeing) . I remembered it being like a chore to us as that normally meant that we could not sleep in on weekends. On days where he doesnt wake us up, we’d be sooo happy as if we had just won a lottery or something. hahah! children…
On a different note, ramadhan is finally over and now its raya time
. Let me just summarize on how I’ve spent my raya so far:
Woke up really early in the morning on the first day. Was hoping that I could go to the mosquebut… my body had other plans for me. Damn you PMS! but anyway, since I couldnt go.. I took my time to get ready. I wore this purple baju kurung which was already laid out for me on my bed. No particular theme this year. My family was wearing all sorts of colours. so I guess.. this year.. its colourful?
Anyway, celebrating raya this year was extra special because its hard to get all my siblings to gather in KL. Last year we celebrated raya in Melbourne. The year before that, my brother and my sister werent able to come back to Malaysia. So, this year, everyone managed to make time and come back to KL for raya. Even my sister, Ivana, who’s only back from Melbourne for 3 days! crazy girl. But im glad that she’s here
It wont be the same without her.
All in all, raya this year has been such a joyous event so far. Celebrated the first half of the day with my whole family. We ate, we laughed, we asked for each others forgiveness… etc. Then bux came
, ask for forgiveness and gave me duit raya. Such a sweetheart la that boy. I love you!
anyway, after that, my sisters, BIL’s, my mom & my maid packed up our things & headed off to JB. When we got on the highway, there was a massive MASSIVE JAM from KL to Seremban! It took us an extra hour and a half just to get to JB. So we arrived there quite late in the evening. Basically, the rest of the day we went around visiting my grandmother, my aunts/unlcles & my cousins. I was so full that I probably gained 10kg that day!
Its getting kinda late. Will update again when I have the time. Happy Raya everyone!
til then
xx
